2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Contract (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a busy onsite support team in Leeds. The role is contract‑based, five days a week on site, and focuses on delivering high‑quality Microsoft‑centric support to business users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line technical assistance for hardware, software and Microsoft environments.
• Troubleshoot and support Office 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Exchange Online.
• Build, configure, deploy and maintain laptops and desktop devices.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access requests in Active Directory and related Microsoft services.
• Escalate complex incidents to internal specialist teams when required.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates and technical documentation.
• Support device roll‑outs, hardware replacements and user onboarding activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support role.
• Strong background supporting Office 365 and Windows 10/11 environments.
• Hands‑on experience with laptops, desktops and peripheral devices.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory user administration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully onsite environment.
