Accountant – Newly Qualified or ACCA/CIMA Finalist

About the role

We are looking for a newly qualified accountant or an ACCA/CIMA finalist to join our finance team. The role will involve producing accurate financial information, supporting month‑end and year‑end processes, statutory reporting and providing financial insight for business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and perform variance analysis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, including reconciling balance‑sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with US sales tax, EU VAT and HMRC regulations, and prepare data for US statutory filings.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
• Provide financial support and advice to other business units and assist with grant funding applications.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (final‑stage students may be considered).
• Recently trained in an accounting practice or industry environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls and month‑end processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
