Accountant – UK Financial Reporting

About the role

Mastercard is seeking an Accountant to join its Controllers Group in the UK. The role supports monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for UK legal entities, ensuring compliance with Mastercard policies and UK statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the integrity of financial records for UK entities in partnership with the Global Business Service Center.
• Support statutory audits and provide quarterly disclosure information to the Mastercard Corporate Group.
• Assist in month‑end financial reporting and preparation of balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and internal stakeholders, communicating risks and opportunities.
• Document financial and business processes and improve internal controls where needed.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for tax, treasury, cash‑flow forecasts and VAT return preparation.

Required profile

• High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical abilities and proficiency with Excel.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Experience using accounting systems.
• Team player with strong planning and organisational skills.
