Accounting Insight and Advisory Manager

About the role

RSM is expanding its Finance Function Support team in the Northern region of the UK. As an Accounting Insight and Advisory Manager you will lead the preparation of annual financial statements and act as the controller for a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the reporting of annual financial statements for SME clients.
• Apply UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105) to ensure statutory compliance.
• Manage job profitability, budgets and project timelines.
• Oversee billing, client care and maintain trusted relationships.
• Provide practical solutions to day‑to‑day client issues across multiple industries.
• Lead assignments, ensuring smooth execution and high‑quality outcomes.
• Train, line‑manage and give constructive feedback to team members.
• Collaborate with other service lines to develop cross‑functional solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting, audit or finance, preferably with SME clients.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, specifically FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality work.
• Leadership experience, including coaching and line‑management.
• Interest in business development and cross‑service collaboration.
