Actuarial Assistant Manager – Non-Life Reserving

About the role

KPMG is seeking a newly or nearly qualified actuary to join its Non‑Life Reserving team. You will work on a variety of projects for general insurance clients across the UK, including retail, commercial, Lloyd’s and the London Market.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate insurance reserves using a range of actuarial techniques and assumptions.
• Review and validate reporting outputs against UK GAAP, IFRS and FCA requirements.
• Support due‑diligence activities for transactions and provide basic actuarial calculations such as loss ratios and IBNR.
• Assist in the delivery of client engagements, working on‑site as part of project teams.
• Provide technical input on reserving, pricing transformations and data enrichment projects.

Required profile

• Newly or nearly qualified actuary with significant practical experience.
• Experience in a non‑life consultancy, audit, validation or stress‑testing environments.
• Proven analytical or pricing leadership, preferably with exposure to the London Market.
• Understanding of underwriting processes, data requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel‑based actuarial models.
• Experience using Python for actuarial calculations.
• Familiarity with actuarial modelling platforms such as Hx Renew.
