Associate Consultant – Operations Manager

About the role

RT Consulting is seeking an Associate Consultant to join its Operations Management team, supporting defence and public‑sector programmes across the Southwest of England. You will work on‑site several days a week, with hybrid flexibility, delivering operational excellence for complex, regulated projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and assure delivery across complex programmes or portfolios, particularly in defence, infrastructure or regulated public‑sector environments.
• Manage operational delivery, performance metrics and resource allocation to keep programmes aligned with objectives, milestones and governance requirements.
• Provide leadership on operational planning, governance, risk and issue management, ensuring continuous improvement and assurance.
• Engage with senior stakeholders within secure, regulated settings and operate within established governance frameworks.
• Adapt to ambiguous and evolving environments, balancing changing priorities while maintaining delivery focus.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role within defence, infrastructure or regulated public‑sector contexts.
• Strong ability to lead teams, coordinate resources and assure performance across complex programmes.
• Comfortable working in secure, regulated environments and interacting with senior stakeholders.
• Resilient in ambiguous, evolving situations and capable of maintaining operational discipline.
