Associate Director – Commodity Sales

About the role

The Associate Director, Commodity Sales will lead the execution and origination of commodity transactions across ANZ's Europe, Middle East and America franchise. Reporting to the Institutional Markets division, the role focuses on cross‑asset coverage of agriculture and energy products, delivering profitable growth for the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Drive profitability of the Europe, Middle East & America commodities franchise.
• Provide high‑quality service to existing clients and cultivate new relationships across the commodities market.
• Manage commodity orders during London and broader northern‑hemisphere dealing hours, ensuring accurate and timely transaction input.
• Identify trading opportunities by understanding client strategies and market dynamics.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Research, Finance, Legal, and back‑office teams.
• Maintain compliance with operational and regulatory requirements for all transactions.

Required profile

• Significant commodity experience with a global trade house or major commodities bank.
• Proven front‑office experience and existing relationships across commodity markets.
• Broad knowledge of energy and agriculture products, including vanilla derivatives and hedging solutions.
• Familiarity with client onboarding, credit assessment, and ISDA negotiations.
• Ability to work across multiple geographies and time zones.
