Backend Software Developer – SaaS Platform

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing product‑led tech business that builds SaaS software used at scale. They need a backend‑leaning software developer who enjoys solving operational problems, owning production systems and delivering reliable, pragmatic code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs that run in production.
• Own systems end‑to‑end, including deployment, monitoring, stability and continuous improvement.
• Integrate with multiple third‑party services and manage external dependencies.
• Troubleshoot issues using logs, metrics and real‑world behaviour.
• Improve resilience through retries, reconciliation, idempotency and robust failure handling.
• Collaborate with engineers across the stack to deliver scalable features.
• Contribute to existing platforms with a focus on maintainability and long‑term quality.
• Support operational improvements in cloud‑native or self‑managed infrastructure environments.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with languages such as C#, Go or Java.
• Proven track record designing and maintaining APIs and production systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, integration challenges and operational reliability.
• Comfortable debugging complex issues and tracing failures across services.
• Experience in SaaS, platform or high‑volume product environments.
• Ability to work with modern frontend code when needed.
• Pragmatic decision‑making with awareness of trade‑offs.
• Stable career history with long‑term contributions to teams and products.
