Catering Team Leader / Senior Catering Staff

About the Role

Join the NHS Lanarkshire team as a key member of our catering department. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the high-quality preparation and distribution of food and beverages, playing a vital part in supporting the nutritional needs of our patients, staff, and service users within a healthcare environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute a wide range of food and beverages in strict compliance with food hygiene legislation and NHS policies.
• Oversee the daily operations of patient meal services and public/staff catering facilities.
• Supervise and support new employees, providing necessary training and guidance to ensure service excellence.
• Manage staff rotas, task allocations, and daily workflows effectively.
• Handle cash transactions and point-of-sale operations accurately.
• Ensure all health and safety standards, including COSHH, are strictly maintained.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in fast-paced catering or food service environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and supervise a team.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and resources.
• Reliable and flexible, able to work a 5-day roster including early and late shifts (up to 8 PM).
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
