Compensation Manager

About the role

Proofpoint is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Compensation Manager to operationalize and strengthen its compensation programs across EMEA and APJ. The role partners closely with HR business partners and business leaders to ensure fair, performance‑driven pay decisions that align with the company’s compensation philosophy.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic compensation partner for assigned business units, providing consultative guidance within established philosophy and governance.
• Collaborate with HRBPs on hiring, promotions, performance‑based pay, and organizational changes while ensuring alignment with global standards and local market dynamics.
• Lead global and regional implementation of initiatives such as pay transparency, job leveling, and equity assessments.
• Ensure disciplined application of pay‑for‑performance practices across regions, reinforcing accountability and consistency.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend scalable solutions.
• Lead, develop, and mentor assigned team members, contributing to a high‑performing Compensation team.

Required profile

• 6–10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including at least 2 years of management experience.
• Prior experience with Workday advanced compensation modules (preferred).
• Background in growth‑oriented or technology environments.
• Strong analytical ability to translate data into executive‑level insights.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to support shared goals.
