Construction Manager for Public Sector Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a major public sector project in Oakham, Rutland. You will oversee site survey activities, develop construction phase plans and coordinate a range of works including service diversions, demolition and asbestos removal.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate site operations and liaise with the client base and subcontractors.
• Develop and manage logistics, scope, package planning and procurement activities.
• Ensure health and safety compliance, review method statements and conduct safety inspections.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme, adjust methodologies as needed and keep an accurate daily diary.
• Lead the site engineering and surveying package and oversee the ITP and QA processes.
• Maintain build quality to meet client requirements and Bovis procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction management on large‑scale public sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, method statements and QA processes.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex construction activities.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and communication skills.
