Consultant – Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Surgeon to join our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery department following a retirement. The position is full‑time with the possibility of part‑time arrangements to support work‑life balance. You will work in a supportive, ambitious, and collaborative environment, contributing to high‑quality patient care across Devon.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert plastic and reconstructive surgical services to a diverse patient population.
• Lead and mentor junior clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development initiatives.
• Collaborate with regional hospitals and community services to ensure seamless patient pathways.
• Engage in research and education activities linked to local universities.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Consultant Surgeon with a recognised specialty in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
• Experience in delivering both elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Commitment to high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
• Ability to work within a large NHS Trust and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
