Cover Supervisor – Specialist SEN Setting

About the role

We are currently looking for a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor to join a specialist SEN setting in Bristol, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working with children or young people who wants to develop their experience within a specialist environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver pre‑prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs.
• Maintain a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and provide appropriate support.
• Work alongside Teaching Assistants and wider school staff.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs where required.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour‑management skills.
• A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them progress.
