Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. You will work across cloud, on‑premises and hybrid environments, designing and operating security solutions that protect client infrastructure, applications and data.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage security tools, systems and processes.
• Partner with engineering and security teams to embed security best practices.
• Automate security tooling, including SIEM log ingestion and firewall management.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures.
• Conduct security assessments using frameworks such as CIS benchmarks.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain BPSS and a UK security clearance (requires 5 years continuous UK address history).
• British passport holder with no dual nationality at application.
• Strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to be on‑call as required.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, Cribl, ELK).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Linux/WSL environment knowledge.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, IaC and virtualization.
• Firewall management in hybrid and on‑prem environments.
• IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and endpoint security experience.
