Design Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer to lead technical design activities on high‑value infrastructure projects. You will coordinate external consultants, ensure design outputs meet programme and quality expectations, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate external design consultants to deliver on‑time, client‑specification designs.
• Act as technical lead for design elements, monitoring progress and reporting to senior engineering leadership.
• Manage design queries, requests for information, and workshop outputs, ensuring clear communication across project teams.
• Review drawings and design submissions for compliance with scope, processes, and standards.
• Support design programme management, maintain schedules, and contribute to BIM coordination and document control.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both design and construction environments on engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of design management processes, technical queries, and stakeholder coordination.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and Principal Designer responsibilities.
• Background in heavy civil engineering or tunnelling projects is advantageous.
