Design Manager

About the role

Pret is seeking a Design Manager to champion shop design and innovation across the UK and international markets. You will lead the creation of high‑quality shop designs and construction documents that support new openings and refurbishments, ensuring the brand experience meets operational, cost, and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead the end‑to‑end architectural design and shop development process.
• Establish clear communication channels with Property, Construction, Operations, Marketing, and Creative teams.
• Maintain brand and design consistency while ensuring practicality, durability, and operational standards.
• Provide design support to equity and franchise partners in the UK and abroad.
• Attend weekly design and project review meetings, prioritising schedules and objectives.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including international design and project teams.
• Prepare test fits, concepts, schematics, and design intent packages.
• Review concept designs, monitor document production, and ensure accurate construction drawings that meet brand standards and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and landlord criteria to secure permits and approvals.
• Maintain and communicate design guidelines and updates to all relevant parties.
