Director, Internal Audit – Investment Management

About the role

Join Morgan Stanley’s Internal Audit division in Glasgow as a Director (AVP equivalent) responsible for providing independent assurance over the Investment Management business. You will help identify key risks, evaluate control effectiveness, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize risk areas within the investment management portfolio.
• Plan, execute and lead assurance activities such as audits, continuous monitoring and closure verification.
• Engage with business owners and stakeholders to discuss risk exposure and control performance.
• Manage multiple deliverables in line with team priorities and timelines.
• Provide feedback, mentor peers and contribute to on‑the‑job training initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, risk assurance or related fields.
• Strong understanding of investment management operations and the regulatory environment governing them.
• Demonstrated ability to ask risk‑based questions, synthesize viewpoints and adapt communication.
• Commitment to inclusive behaviours and collaborative teamwork.

Required skills

• Knowledge of audit principles, methodology and tools (risk assessment, planning, testing, reporting, continuous monitoring).
• Experience leveraging AI and data‑analytics techniques to analyse large data sets and inform audit testing.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, CFA) are preferred.
