EL/PL Litigation Executive – Manchester (Hybrid)

About the role

This position is for an EL/PL Litigation Executive within a well‑established national law firm in Manchester. You will manage a delegated‑authority, fixed‑fee caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, working on both litigated and pre‑litigated matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a delegated‑authority EL/PL caseload from instruction to settlement.
• Handle litigated and pre‑litigated matters, including PAD applications and Infant Approval Hearings.
• Draft pleadings, Tomlin Orders, Consent Orders and other legal documentation.
• Review liability, quantum and evidence to shape case strategy.
• Instruct counsel and experts, prepare for hearings and attend conferences.
• Negotiate settlements with opponents and external stakeholders.
• Oversee disclosure, CRU, medical records review and evidence collation.
• Support senior fee earners on complex and higher‑value matters.

Required profile

• Experience managing a litigated EL/PL caseload.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident liaison with solicitors, witnesses and external parties.
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, analytical and collaborative approach.
• Commitment to excellent client care and compliance.

Required skills

• Good IT skills.
• Familiarity with case management systems.
