EMEA Field CTO, DX – Engineering Executive Advisor

About the role

DX, acquired by Atlassian, is looking for an EMEA Field CTO to act as its primary strategist, storyteller and technical expert for the EMEA market. The role translates DX's research into workshops, executive coaching, briefings and product demonstrations that win business and build DX's reputation as an authority on developer productivity and AI measurement. It combines direct commercial accountability with thought leadership: the Field CTO owns a named account portfolio, takes part in active deals and is measured on both content and revenue influence.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of 15+ named EMEA accounts per half, co-selected with DX sales; win executive alignment through 1:1s, briefings and workshops
• Host or co-host 2-4 experiences per quarter (roundtables, panel events, VIP dinners) and deliver 1-2 internal enablement sessions per quarter for DX reps
• Take part in the executive briefing council, called on by the strategic accounts team
• Share customer blockers, research, feature gaps and competitive intelligence with the product team, and contribute a quarterly VOC report
• Pack research into talks, workshops and coaching narratives, and maintain deep product demo fluency
• Represent DX in media and analyst conversations, and take part in 2+ external podcasts per quarter
• Speak at 6+ conferences a year and host at least 1 webinar per quarter
• Produce at least 3 small research pieces per quarter, or lead 1 large piece, aligned to the quarterly research roadmap

Required profile

• Has led engineering or platform/developer experience teams at scale (VP of Engineering, Head of Platform, Head of Developer Experience, Senior Director of Engineering or similar)
• Known and respected by senior engineering leaders, with a track record of speaking, paneling and podcast appearances
• Strong writer and communicator, opinionated but intellectually honest
• English fluency required; bilingualism in German, French or a Nordic language is referred
• Willingness to travel 30-40% across EMEA, especially around major conferences
