Financial Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Join Estée Lauder Companies at Whitman Laboratories as a Financial Accountant. You will be responsible for delivering accurate month‑end close, financial reporting and maintaining strong controls within a global prestige‑beauty business.

Key responsibilities

• Support and execute month‑end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timely delivery.
• Prepare and review journals, accruals and pre‑payments, coordinating with outsourced finance partners as needed.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate and clear outstanding items.
• Produce monthly P&L and balance‑sheet analysis with clear variance commentary.
• Assist budget and forecast processes, providing analysis and insight.
• Own defined accounting areas such as intercompany, leases, fixed assets, and departmental expenses.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and support SOX documentation, testing and audit activities.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting, including year‑end processes and external submissions.
• Lead R&D tax and capital allowances claims, coordinating data with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering and Facilities teams to improve cost management and expense tracking.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA or actively studying.
• 2–4 years of financial accounting experience, including month‑end close, reconciliations and reporting.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Analytical, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of assigned areas.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience working with financial systems.
