Financial Controller – Private Equity Professional Services

About the role

The business is a high‑growth, private‑equity backed professional services firm seeking a financially‑savvy leader to own the finance function. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will drive reporting excellence, process improvement and commercial insight while supporting the company’s next phase of expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across financial control, reporting and operational finance activities.
• Produce robust monthly management accounts, board reports and KPI analysis.
• Improve financial systems, controls, reporting processes and data visibility.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide commercial insight for decision‑making.
• Support strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions and integration readiness.
• Collaborate with the BI Lead to identify and implement automation and AI opportunities.
• Manage cash‑flow, forecasting, budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Develop and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial control, reporting and operational finance within a high‑growth environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Experience managing cash‑flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Track record of supporting strategic initiatives such as acquisitions.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior leadership.
