About the role
This is a full‑time, permanent Foundation Pharmacist position (Band 6 NHS equivalent) within a leading private hospital in London. You will join a high‑performing clinical pharmacy team, providing on‑call support and developing confidence across a wide range of specialist wards.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver patient‑focused clinical pharmacy services on specialist wards including renal, neurosurgery, orthopaedics and gastroenterology.
- Support safe and effective medicines use for in‑patients and out‑patients, including medicines optimisation at admission and discharge.
- Provide proactive medicines advice and education to patients, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Liaise with primary‑care teams to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
- Participate in audit, governance and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and advise on the safe management of controlled drugs.
- Support specialist services such as Parenteral Nutrition (following accreditation).
- Assist in training and induction of pharmacy colleagues, including MMPTs.
- Prescribe as a Non‑Medical Prescriber once qualified, in line with hospital policy.
Required profile
- Qualified pharmacist eligible for a Foundation year (Band 6 NHS equivalent).
- Willingness to develop clinical confidence through hands‑on learning.
- Ability to work on‑call and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement.
Required skills
- Non‑Medical Prescribing (once qualified).
- Parenteral Nutrition knowledge (post‑accreditation).
- Controlled drug management.
