French Speaking Senior Accountant – Hybrid (London)

About the role

This position is for a French‑speaking Senior Accountant who will lead the accounting function for one entity of an international manufacturing group based in North London. The role is hybrid, with three days on‑site and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Manage French general ledger, ensuring accurate financial data.
• Prepare and reconcile VAT returns and calculate corporate tax, CVAE, monitoring tax compliance.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers and the chart of accounts with correct group mapping.
• Process supplier invoices, code them according to the accounting framework, and oversee payment validation workflows.
• Execute supplier payments, maintain supplier relationships, and perform bank postings and reconciliations.
• Create and manage auxiliary accounts, reconcile supplier ledgers, and produce monthly account statements.
• Administer the Expensya expense system, track reimbursements, and manage expense reporting.
• Lead month‑end, semi‑annual and year‑end closings, including accruals, pre‑payments and provisions.
• Support internal and external audits, ensure internal controls and compliance with accounting policies, tax and legal regulations.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects aimed at system and process improvements, including intercompany operations.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• 5–8 years of experience in a similar senior accounting role.
• Strong analytical ability to identify discrepancies and improve processes.
• Fluent in written and spoken French.
• High attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality with financial data.

Required skills

• SAGE 100 and SAGE payment tools.
• Invoice processing tools (e.g., Yooz, Tagetik).
• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 (a plus).
• Familiarity with digital reporting tools such as Sage BI.
• Expensya expense management system.
