General Foreman – Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

We are seeking a General Foreman to lead civil engineering works on sites across the Midlands. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities and workforce.
• Manage direct labour and subcontractors to maintain productivity and quality.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and programme schedules.
• Lead health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
• Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Monitor progress, report issues or delays to site management.
• Support planning, logistics and quality assurance activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Foreman in heavy civils, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of drainage, groundworks and reinforced concrete.
• Excellent leadership and team‑motivation abilities.
• Valid CSCS card, SSSTS/SMSTS certification and First Aid qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
