Group Financial Controller – Milton Keynes

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead financial control, reporting and governance for a multi‑entity organisation based in Milton Keynes. You will ensure the finance function operates with robust controls, clear policies and a focus on continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead group‑wide financial control and reporting across all entities.
• Manage transactional finance operations (OTC, P2P) and uphold performance standards.
• Execute monthly and year‑end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee group consolidation, inter‑company eliminations and reporting accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Develop and enforce policies for balance‑sheet control and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, CIS, Treasury requirements and statutory accounting.
• Implement finance policies, operating procedures and transformation initiatives.
• Lead finance team performance, development and high‑performing culture.
• Collaborate with the CFO and senior leadership to align business objectives and manage organisational risks.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience (Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller).
• Strong technical accounting, statutory reporting, consolidation and audit expertise.
• Experience managing transactional finance operations in multi‑entity structures.
• Knowledge of VAT, Treasury and CIS requirements.
• Track record of implementing finance strategies, policies and system/process improvements.
• Leadership capability in a dynamic business environment.
• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) – desirable.
• Experience in a shared services centre, integrations, acquisitions or business transformations – desirable.
