Head of Education – Multi‑Sector Vocational Training

About the role

We are launching a new multi‑sector vocational education business that will include maritime training (SeaLearn) and programmes for finance, IT and other industries. As Head of Education you will lead the entity, set strategic direction and ensure the delivery of high‑quality training that meets employer and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an education strategy aligned with overall business growth.
• Lead curriculum innovation and oversee design and delivery of apprenticeships, certifications and short courses.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted, ESFA and other awarding bodies.
• Manage day‑to‑day training operations, monitor KPIs such as learner achievement, retention and progression.
• Optimize delivery models (in‑person, blended, online) for efficiency and impact.
• Lead, develop and inspire a team of trainers, assessors and curriculum leads.
• Build strong relationships with employers, partners and awarding bodies.
• Support commercial growth by identifying new training opportunities, contributing to bids and ensuring financial viability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in vocational education, training or apprenticeships, preferably within a private or PE‑backed organisation.
• Commercial mindset with a track record of linking education delivery to business performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to improve learner outcomes and operational efficiency.
