IT Systems Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join the IT Operations team at the Royal College of Music. The role will focus on managing Microsoft 365 and server infrastructures within virtual environments, ensuring reliable services for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Microsoft 365 and server infrastructures in virtualised environments.
• Maintain server monitoring, backup solutions and cyber‑suite tools such as endpoint protection and mail security.
• Administer network components including switches and Wi‑Fi systems.
• Lead tasks independently while collaborating and sharing knowledge with the wider team.
• Prioritise work under pressure, delivering high‑quality customer service and effective stakeholder communication.

Required profile

• Confidence in managing Microsoft 365 and server infrastructures.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Resilient, adaptable and able to prioritise logically under pressure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
