About the role

Join the kitchen team at Wetherspoons in Gateshead and help deliver high‑quality food in a fast‑paced pub environment. No prior experience is required – we provide training so you can develop the skills needed to succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to the required specifications.
• Operate kitchen workstations such as grills, fryers and microwaves.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards throughout the shift.
• Rotate stock, store food safely and assist with full kitchen clean‑downs.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet time and quality targets.
• Complete induction, role‑specific and refresher training.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, reliable and friendly attitude.
• Willingness to learn and stay calm under pressure.
• Team‑oriented and able to follow health and safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking.
• Operating kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, microwaves).
