About the role

The Pensions Ombudsman is seeking a qualified Lawyer to join its in‑house legal team in Canary Wharf. Working on a permanent basis, you can choose full‑time or part‑time hours within a flexible, hybrid working model that encourages 20% office attendance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on complex pension‑related cases, ensuring decisions are grounded in sound legal analysis.
• Maintain consistency with previous case law while aligning with the Ombudsman’s statutory powers and objectives.
• Support colleagues across the organisation on legal, procedural and regulatory matters.
• Contribute to casework and jurisdictional decisions, preparing clear recommendations for senior leadership.
• Assist the Executive Committee and Corporate Board in exercising their functions in accordance with relevant legislation.

• Experience supporting senior staff and boards on legal and regulatory matters.
