Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our small, supportive team in Swindon. Working a two‑shift day pattern, you will be involved in a varied, hands‑on environment covering production equipment and site facilities, with a salary up to £45,000 plus bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on production machinery and site facilities.
• Fault‑find electrical control panels, including inverters and drives.
• Perform basic PLC I/O diagnostics (no programming required).
• Support installation projects for new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain and repair material handling systems such as conveyors and pallet trucks.
• Execute mechanical repairs down to component level (bearings, sprockets, gearboxes).
• Address general site facilities issues alongside production maintenance.
• Participate in the two‑shift rota, covering days and late shifts.

Required profile

• Multi‑skilled maintenance background with either an electrical or mechanical bias (single‑bias applicants welcome if open to training).
• Relevant engineering qualifications; 17th or 18th Edition desirable for electrical bias.
• Confident fault‑finding on control panels with safe electrical practices.
• Basic understanding of PLC systems (I/O diagnostics).
• Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Full UK driving licence preferred for multi‑site travel.
