Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Copthorne Hotel Cardiff is seeking a proactive Maintenance Manager to lead its on‑site maintenance team. You will ensure a safe, well‑maintained environment for guests and staff while coordinating a variety of technical tasks across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute reactive and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Carry out daily utility readings and ensure accurate recording.
• Maintain strict compliance with health and safety legislation, including fire procedures, manual handling, COSHH, and waste disposal.
• Oversee the upkeep of all hotel areas, coordinating painting, decorating and refurbishment projects as needed.
• Manage the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and adapt working patterns to meet hotel requirements.

Required profile

• Positive, efficient and motivated with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with other hotel departments.
• Customer‑focused, able to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including out‑of‑hours on‑call duties.
• Preferably fully qualified as an electrician and/or plumber.
