Midweight Designer – 14‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are looking for a Midweight Designer to join our Birmingham studio on a 14‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is hybrid and focuses on packaging design for a leading global toy manufacturer, requiring strong storytelling and a broad skill set across brand design, typography, illustration, photography, finishes and print processes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Design Directorate and Senior Designers to interpret briefs, brand guidelines and technical constraints.
• Challenge briefs and deliver both expected and innovative design solutions.
• Manage time effectively and work closely with Resource Managers.
• Maintain open communication between Design, Client Service, Strategy and Operations teams.
• Contribute to internal design reviews, provide fresh perspectives and ensure executional consistency.
• Follow file‑setup, naming and server filing procedures and support studio inspiration events.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in a Brand or Packaging Design agency.
• Strong storytelling ability and understanding of strategic, creative and commercial brand aspects.
• Interest in art directing and collaboration with CGI teams.
• Degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Illustration or a related field.
