Occupational Health Physician for Manufacturing Plant

About the role

The company seeks a qualified physician to lead comprehensive medical care for employees of its manufacturing plant. The role focuses on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up of occupational illnesses and work‑related accidents while ensuring compliance with current health, safety, and industrial hygiene regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general medical consultations, conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and prescribe treatments in line with medical standards.
• Deliver immediate care for workplace accidents and medical emergencies, including first‑aid response.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory and imaging studies; manage medical leave and employee reintegration.
• Assess and monitor employee health relative to job risks; oversee ST‑7 and ST‑9 reporting to IMSS and manage the Work‑Related Risk Premium.
• Conduct entry, periodic, and annual medical examinations; analyze accident statistics and support the ELSSA safety program.
• Implement health‑promotion campaigns (vaccination, ergonomics, vision, nutrition) and train staff on health, first aid, and risk prevention.
• Maintain up‑to‑date medical records, manage medication and equipment inventories, and coordinate external referrals.
• Ensure compliance with STPS and IMSS regulations, operate the TRESS system, and lead the First‑Aid Brigade.

Required profile

• Medical degree with a valid professional license (mandatory).
• Preferably a diploma or specialization in Occupational Medicine, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial or occupational medicine, preferably in a maquiladora environment.
• Familiarity with IMSS processes and labor‑law health regulations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of STPS and IMSS regulations.
• Proficiency with ST‑7, ST‑9 reporting and risk‑premium management.
