Part‑time Event Coordinator & Driver (Mobile Visitor Centre)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Event Coordinator/Driver to manage our Mobile Visitor Centre (MVC) along the HS2 corridor between Great Missenden and Southam. Based in Bicester, you will travel to pre‑agreed locations, set up the MVC and support public engagement events.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, transport and return the MVC vehicle to and from Bicester.
• Drive the MVC to event sites and set up the centre (typically 2‑3 half‑days per week).
• Capture visitor feedback, record actions and maintain stock of leaflets and refreshments.
• Ensure the vehicle and event environment remain safe and clean.
• Assist the engagement team with local promotion, including flyer collection and door‑to‑door delivery.
• Support planning and delivery of the wider event programme, both virtual and face‑to‑face community events.
• Provide ad‑hoc assistance for other engagement activities as required.

Required profile

• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Full UK driving licence; willingness to drive a fleet vehicle (training provided).
• Flexibility to travel, work from various locations and work outside normal office hours, especially during summer.
• Desirable: knowledge of the rail, infrastructure or construction industry and a solid general education.
