Payment Industry & Liquidity Associate (SCIB)

About the role

The Payment Industry & Liquidity Associate will join Santander Corporate & Investment Banking's (SCIB) Payment and Liquidity Operations team in London. You will act as the primary contact for agency banking payments, overseeing Faster Payments, BACS and cheque schemes, and support strategic initiatives such as extended operating hours and API adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee agency banking services for Faster Payments, BACS and CHAPS.
• Manage relationships with regulators, agency banks and key suppliers.
• Monitor SLAs, conduct service reviews and handle incident management.
• Prepare regulatory reports for PRA/FCA and coordinate branch returns.
• Support AI and Data Lake initiatives across SCIB European branches.
• Maintain risk and control frameworks and ensure compliance with payment scheme rules.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar payments or liquidity operations role.
• Familiarity with payment processing flows such as CHAPS, BACS and SWIFT APIs.
• Strong data analysis and Excel capabilities.
• Experience in incident and problem management.
• Degree level education in Engineering, Finance, Maths, AI or Data Modelling, or equivalent.
