Post-16 SEND Case Officer (3‑month contract)

About the role
We are partnering with a Greater London Local Authority to recruit an experienced SEND Officer on a three‑month contract. The role focuses on post‑16 pupils, requiring recent experience with this age group and a strong understanding of SEND legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Produce high‑quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within statutory deadlines.
- Manage a caseload of existing assessments and determine appropriate funding and provision in line with council policy.
- Conduct annual reviews and update EHCPs through meetings with families, schools and multi‑agency partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, educational institutions and other professionals.
Required profile
- Minimum two years’ experience as a SEND Officer within a Local Authority.
- Recent experience working with secondary and post‑16 students.
- Secure working knowledge of current SEND legislation and familiarity with the latest SEND White Paper.
