Project Manager – Lincolnshire Unit for Mental Health Research

About the role

The University of Lincoln is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of the Lincolnshire Unit for Mental Health Research (LUMHR), a five‑year NIHR‑funded programme. You will coordinate complex work packages, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the project meets its milestones and funder requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans across multiple work packages and themes.
• Monitor progress against milestones, KPIs, and funder requirements.
• Support governance, reporting, and compliance, including NIHR reports and risk registers.
• Oversee financial monitoring, track expenditure, and assist with forecasting.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and governance groups with internal and external partners.
• Act as the central operational contact for academic teams, NHS, local authorities, voluntary organisations, and lived‑experience contributors.
• Line‑manage the LUMHR Administrator, ensuring effective administrative support.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience.
• Substantial project‑management experience in higher education, research, health, public or third‑sector settings.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex projects, monitor budgets, and maintain delivery documentation.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Strong commitment to inclusive, collaborative working and interest in mental‑health research for underserved communities.
