Recruit Trainer – Police Constable (Permanent, London)

About the role

The British Transport Police are seeking experienced Police Constables to join the Learning and Development team as Recruit Trainers. In this permanent, full‑time position you will help shape the next generation of railway police officers by delivering engaging, modern training programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and continuously improve classroom, digital and practical training for new recruits.
• Research and create training materials that reflect current operational realities.
• Use a variety of teaching and mentoring techniques to motivate and support learners.
• Build an inclusive, high‑performing learning environment.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Adapt training approaches to meet individual needs.

Required profile

• Current Police Constable with a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage a diverse range of learners.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and experience applying them.
