Registered Nurse – Inflammatory Dermatology (Band 5)

About the role

This is an internal opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join a specialist inflammatory dermatology team within Hywel Dda University Health Board. You will work alongside dermatology CNSs, consultants and a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, compassionate care for adults and young people with chronic skin conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care for patients with psoriasis, eczema, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, urticaria and autoimmune dermatoses.
• Perform structured dermatology assessments, skin examinations and symptom monitoring.
• Support phototherapy services through patient education, safety checks and treatment response monitoring.
• Provide clear, patient‑centred education on disease management, trigger avoidance and skincare.
• Collaborate with CNSs, dermatologists, pharmacists and administrative staff to develop and improve care pathways.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with NMC and NHS standards.
• Engage in specialist training and work towards advanced dermatology competencies.

Required profile

• Current employee of Hywel Dda University Health Board.
• Registered Nurse (Band 5) with a commitment to specialist dermatology development.
• Ability to work under supervision of CNSs and consultants.
• Welsh language ability is desirable but not mandatory.
