School Cleaner – Part‑time/Contract (Houghton‑le‑Spring)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for reliable School Cleaners to maintain a safe and welcoming environment across primary and secondary schools in Houghton‑le‑Spring. The role offers flexible part‑time or contractor shifts aligned with school opening and closing times.

Key responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, corridors, communal areas, entrances, dining spaces and staff rooms to a high standard.
• Empty bins, manage waste disposal and ensure proper sanitation of desks, touch points and equipment.
• Maintain clean and hygienic toilets and washrooms.
• Follow health & safety and safeguarding procedures and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning experience (school experience desirable but not essential).
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Proactive, dependable attitude with ability to work independently.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and two professional references covering the last two years.
