About the role
A warm, welcoming North Bristol primary school is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for children with autism. You will join a supportive team dedicated to creating a positive learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interaction.
- Use visual timetables, communication aids and structured routines.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support.
- Help foster a calm, engaging and nurturing classroom environment.
Required profile
- Experience working with children in school, nursery, care or similar settings.
- Calm, patient and positive approach.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Team‑player who builds strong relationships with pupils.
