Senior Care Assistant (Bank Hours)

About the role

Join Oakview Lodge Nursing Home in Welwyn Garden City as a Senior Care Assistant on a bank‑hour basis. You will play a pivotal role in delivering personalised, high‑quality care to residents with diverse needs, including dementia and older‑adult care.

Key responsibilities

• Aid residents' emotional well‑being and social needs.
• Administer and monitor medications safely.
• Support residents during mealtimes.
• Mentor and assist new employees.
• Implement, monitor and review individual care plans.
• Plan, allocate and supervise the work of care assistants.

Required profile

• Proactive, passionate and ambitious attitude.
• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant with team‑lead responsibilities.
• Friendly, caring approach and strong communication skills.
• Ability to engage with residents, families and multidisciplinary staff.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
