Senior Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join a global energy company’s IT Security team in Aberdeen. This permanent, hybrid role will focus on designing and implementing security solutions across our Azure, Microsoft 365 and broader cloud estate.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy security solutions for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments.
• Develop, maintain and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Conduct security assessments, audits and risk identification.
• Manage security controls in Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Participate in incident response, post‑incident reviews and recommend engineering improvements.
• Support cloud security tooling and platforms, and contribute to change‑management forums.
• Mentor colleagues across the IT function and monitor emerging threats.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Proven background delivering information security in modern digital environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD and preferably Microsoft Purview.
• Strong scripting ability in PowerShell.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and GDPR frameworks.
• Security certifications such as CISSP or CISM are advantageous.
• Azure certifications (AZ‑500, SC‑300) are a plus.
