Senior Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead a Ministry of Defence project in Oakham, Rutland. You will be responsible for coordinating all construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery while supporting the commercial team with robust record keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan.
• Manage the supply chain from surveys through to main construction on site.
• Plan, supervise, and record day‑to‑day construction operations.
• Control quality, monitor progress, and adjust methodologies to meet programme deadlines.
• Lead early enabling and surveying works to prepare projects for main contracts.
• Promote an Incident and Injury Free climate across the site and supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with the Environmental Management Plan.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate changes affecting safety, methodology, or logistics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior construction management on large‑scale projects.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and environmental standards.
• Ability to lead and develop construction teams.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with clients and decision‑makers.
