Senior Consultant – Ambulance Service

About the role

The Senior Consultant – Ambulance Service is the most senior physician responsible for overseeing emergency and pre‑hospital care teams in Doha. Reporting to the Department Chair or Section Head, the role combines direct patient care with leadership of consultants, junior doctors and allied staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality diagnosis, treatment, and admission of patients under your name.
• Supervise clinical decisions made by consultants and junior doctors within the ambulance service.
• Collaborate with department leadership on service development, budgeting, staffing and funding.
• Lead teaching, training and mentorship programmes for junior doctors.
• Drive academic and research initiatives aligned with the department’s priorities.
• Ensure compliance with ambulance protocols, emergency response systems and patient‑stabilisation procedures during transport.

Required profile

• Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or equivalent) with a valid medical licence and eligibility for Qatar licensing.
• Board certification or specialization in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or a related field.
• Minimum six years of post‑qualification clinical experience.
• Proven leadership experience in clinical or emergency‑healthcare settings.
• Experience working in multicultural healthcare environments is an advantage.
