About the role
The client, a leading investment‑banking firm, is building a new data and application platform. They are seeking a senior Python developer with deep Sybase expertise to lead backend development, design data pipelines and ensure high‑quality delivery in an agile environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable back‑end services and APIs using Python.
- Build and optimise data pipelines on Databricks and implement ETL processes.
- Create and manage CI/CD pipelines and release processes in Azure DevOps.
- Provide architectural guidance, conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Collaborate with QA, product managers and architects to deliver business‑aligned solutions.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Sybase (ASE and/or IQ) and advanced SQL tuning.
- Proven expertise in Python development and building ETL workflows.
- Good knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Experience with automated testing and agile methodologies.
