Skills Tutor – JGW+ Programme

About the role

ACT is looking for a passionate Skills Tutor to deliver the JGW+ programme, helping young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) develop essential skills and confidence. The role is based primarily at the Barry Centre with occasional travel to Bridgend.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging sessions in essential skills such as maths, English and life skills.
• Plan and run structured learning and enrichment activities, including trips, workshops and guest speakers.
• Develop, review and update Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for each learner.
• Track, assess and monitor learner progress using internal systems.
• Identify learners at risk of disengagement and provide targeted support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, external agencies and support services.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate records and report safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Travel between ACT centres as required.
