Software Applications Engineer

About the role

Saab UK is seeking a Software Applications Engineer to design and implement application and software solutions for underwater robotics. You will work on next‑generation underwater vehicles, creating new code and enhancing existing products while adhering to Saab Seaeye's business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software for next‑generation underwater vehicles.
• Maintain and extend existing codebases and product lines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure solutions meet technical and business requirements.

Required profile

• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or a software engineering qualification with industry experience.
• Extensive experience with C++ development.
• Familiarity with control software development and a solid understanding of software design and architecture.
• Experience in backend server design and standard web technologies.
• Ability to construct functional web pages and work on both Windows and Linux platforms.
