Software Engineer (Mid) – £50,000–£65,000 – Bristol

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing SaaS business in Bristol. You will work across the full product stack, delivering features for B2B financial services clients. The role offers real ownership of both backend services and frontend components.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain core product features across backend services and frontend.
• Design and build RESTful APIs and contribute to platform architecture.
• Work with SQL, NoSQL and graph databases, including query optimisation.
• Contribute to infrastructure and deployment tooling across the stack.
• Refactor and improve existing services to increase engineering velocity.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and ops teams to deliver quality solutions.

Required profile

• Strong foundations in software engineering principles.
• Production experience in Go, Python or TypeScript.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with databases including SQL and NoSQL.
• Comfort with CI/CD and a test‑first mindset.
• Exposure to cloud or infrastructure tooling such as AWS or Kubernetes.
• Frontend experience, ideally React, is a bonus.
• Experience in a product‑led or scale‑up environment is a plus.
