Substance Misuse Nurse – Henry Street Hub

About the role

Change Grow Live is seeking a passionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team at the Henry Street Hub in Liverpool. The role involves delivering specialist clinical interventions to individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, supporting their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical and mental health assessments for service users.
• Sign‑post or refer clients to primary or secondary health services as needed.
• Provide education, health promotion and screening for blood‑borne viruses (BBV).
• Administer Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated.
• Contribute to the organisation’s Naloxone strategy.
• Review and update procedures to align with UK clinical guidelines, NICE guidance and internal protocols.
• Offer harm‑reduction advice, supply equipment and ensure safe disposal.
• Record and input client data accurately.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a genuine interest in substance misuse care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Curious, good listener with a flexible, whole‑person approach.
• Clinically robust and able to adapt to varied daily demands.

Required skills

• Physical and mental health assessment.
• Hepatitis B vaccination administration.
• Blood‑borne virus screening and education.
• Naloxone provision and strategy implementation.
• Harm‑reduction counseling and equipment management.
